Warm Bodies is another zombie flick that is taking the next step in zombie movies.  The story is from the point of the view of an infected zombie boy who begins to feel human again, of course, by falling in love with a girl.  It’s about survival, love, and curing the zombie epidemic.  Ahh… how romantic!  Check out the trailer for Warm Bodies by Summit Entertainment.

Josh Gates from Destination Truth at Scarefest 2012

Scarefest had many recognizable paranormal researchers/tv personalities such as Destination Truth’s Josh Gates, Ghost Adventurer’s Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin, several people from Ghost Hunters International, Paranormal State, and many other paranormal research teams, authors, and radio hosts.  There was even a World Premier screening of a new SyFy movie, American Horror House. You could get autographs, books, and pictures with a variety of aliens, monsters, zombies, and famous actors!  Chandler Riggs from The Walking Dead was there on Saturday and Sunday (he plays Carl Grimes, the young boy).  There was even a concert by Ghost Adventurer’s Nick Groff!

2012 Scarefest was held in Lexington, KY (4.5 hours from me) in the Lexington Convention Center.  You can get more details about Scarefest from their website and from their Facebook Page.

There were zombies, aliens, and monsters galore!

I wish I had gone, but I didn’t.  I missed my chance to meet Josh Gates from Destination Truth (which is pretty depressing).  I’m going to make plans to go next year if it’s in Lexington again!

Sons of Guns crew with Max Brooks

Sons of Guns season finale episode “Zombie Gun!” aired tonight 4/18/12 on the Discovery Channel. The goal was to created the ultimate Zombie killing gun for Max Brooks who is the author of “World War Z”, “The Zombie Survival Guide”, and happens to be Mel Brooks’ son. The Red Jacket crew broke into 2 teams for a build-off to see who came up with the best gun for the Zombie Apocalypse. The owner, Will, and his team built an M16 Military Zombie Gun by converting an AR15 to a Select Fire M16 with a suppressor, the Zombie Stopper Holographic sight, a bayonet, high capacity magazines, and grenade launcher that would be ideal for soldiers. This gun packs a big bang, mass destruction, and awesome red laser optic sights which are night vision compatible. Team Max lead by Joe Meaux focused on making the ideal gun for civilians using .22 caliber ammunition since it is one of the most plentiful on this planet (you don’t want to run out of ammo) and it’s lightweight (since you might be carrying it around all day everyday). The .22 Caliber rifle dropped into a Bullpup stock body, with a suppressor, spike bayonet, and optics.

Burning Up the Zombies

To decide whose team created the ultimate gun they fired on hundreds of zombie dummy targets each filled with 500 paint packets. They used 3 criteria to pick the best gun:
1) Ammo Capacity goes to Joe’s .22 at 281 rounds. Will could hold 200 rounds.
2) Accuracy was a tie.
3) Versatility showed off both guns bayonets and Will’s grenade launcher.

Big explosions and lots of twice dead zombies make the Sons of Guns season finale good zombie killing fun! Max Brooks chose the .22 caliber gun as the perfect civilian weapon for the Zombie Apocalypse. But for military use, Will’s gun is great!
